Born 1943, Swedish, juris. dr; assistant under-secretary, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Stockholm, former TFF chairman. Served at the Swedish mission in Belgrade in the 1970s; allround expert on Balkan affairs, security thinking and policies. Since the UN Rio Conference on the Environment chairman of negotiation committees, among others on bio-diversity and on genetic technology and, therefore, periodically assigned as adviser to the minister of Agriculture. Mr. Svensson
served as chairman of the board from 1985 to 1994. He is
also the legal expert of the board. He left the board in
2003 and became adviser.
