Trine Pertou Mach
Pertou Mach holds a BA and MA in Political
Science from Aarhus University in Denmark, specialised in international
politics and Middle East affairs. Its key subjects were democratisation
and human rights, development aid based on participation and capacity
building of civil society.
She is trained as human rights observer and monitor.
Over several years, Mach has been engaged in writings and debates related
to mainly two fields:
International politics - Middle Eastern affairs, terrorism,
islamism, human rights and democracy;
The European Union - the global role of the EU, common foreign
and security poliy, defence and military developments, trade and development.
She is Programme Officer for Middle Eastern affairs at the Danish Church
Aid, Copenhagen (2006-). Earlier positions include North Africa &
Middle East advisor, Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke (2004-6), project manager
in WWF Denmark of democratisation and civil society development in Kalinigrad
(2003-4), Social Affairs expert European Commission Delegation, Cairo
Egypt (2001-3), Political advisor at the European Parliament 1998-2001.
Mach has written and co-authored articles, essays and books. She serves
as commentator at the Danish News Magazine Raeson.
And she is:
Member of the Board of the Socialist
People's Party;
Member of the Board of the think tank NyAgenda;
and
Member of the Board of Udfordring
Europa ('Challenge Europe')

Den utilgivelige fejlvurdering bestod i, at han efterlod dansk udenrigspolitik
uden egentlige manøvremuligheder. Uagtet indholdet af Ambassadørernes
brev, så skulle mødet have fundet sted - dét er
essensen i diplomati.

Religiøs
dialog kan ikke løse politiske problemer
Det kan sagtens være sympatisk og almennyttigt, når
USA faciliterer religiøse topmøder, men det er og forbliver
alene symptombehandling. Roden til de konflikter og terroren skal findes
et helt andet sted. Det er kun løsningen af de grundlæggende
problemer, der kan skabe fred. I dag er der i Mellemøsten tre
konflikter, der udgør centrale barrierer for opretholdelsen af
en international retsorden: Irak, Vestbredden og Gaza, Libanon. Her
udleves alle Vestens dobbeltstandarder for fuld skrue.
